Bonding Over Quarantine
Fever, exhaustion and fear attacked our family. We had a mighty scare at our house.
It looks as if it was nothing but a regular virus. But it was a child and although coronavirus isn’t supposed to be as hard on kids, we were still plagued with fear, guilt and uncertainty.
Did I bring the virus home to him from work, the store or the gas station? Did I not sanitize the way I should have? These should have’s can make the stress of the sickness even worse. So we just focused on getting him healthy!
Things are better now and we are back to as normal as we can be.
When Blended Families Don’t Blend Well
He is not mine by blood or marriage and we have had our ups and downs in our new parent/child type relationship.
While the last 9/18 months have been a steady downhill slide, this pandemic brought the 2 of us together in a positive fashion.
The dread of seeing him was replaced by the dread of something happening to him. The fighting/defiance towards me was replaced with his need of care and entertainment.
So Essentially We Bonded Over Our Quarantine of Coronavirus COVID-19.
Our hours forced together, FORCED US TO GET ALONG! And we did. We got along swimmingly!
I missed my walk yesterday because of the constant childcare. But:
I’m Back Baby!
I stood in line to get my temperature taken at work. (That was a whole other story) I worked and then by hell!!! I WALKED.
I WALKED OFF THE GUILT, I WALKED OFF THE WORRY AND I BURNED SOME CALORIES OUT IN THE GLORIOUS SUN!
I walked 7 miles at a park. Just me, my podcasts and my sense of accomplishment.
Here’s to your walk and your quiet stress free evening at home!
Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.
