Binge Eating and Power Walking
The Sugar Craving, then the Salt
I just went for the ice cold and refreshing sugary tea. The line wasn’t long and I had the excuse of not being able to go inside, so I could “hide” in the car with my EXTRA SWEET DELIGHT.
Then “small fry” echoed easily into the speaker, like it had been planned all along. The fries were hot, salty and cooked to perfection.
I ate them as I drove away while sipping on my tea. My full bottle of water standing erect in the cup holder adjacent to the tall cold plastic cup of brown sugar.
Just when I thought they were all devoured, a lone fry is hiding in the bag under a napkin. And napkin? Who needs a napkin when I can lick all the salt from my fingers?
I licked my fingers during a pandemic!
Yes! I licked the grease and salt from my hand and washed it away with my sweet tea. The contentment lasted several miles, several minutes until I realized the next order of business today is to Get My Walk In!
Walk without Shame
With my belly sloshing of tea and grease, I walked.
I admit, I would have been wise to not make the pit stop to the Golden Arches. But, I did. I made a poor choice. I enjoyed it. I will try to do better tomorrow.
I walked faster than my normal strut. I put a little more into each step. I pushed myself up the hills. I huffed and puffed….and sloshed.
I walked 4.6 miles today.
