Walking Buddy

Day 60

Everyone needs a walking buddy. Moms, dads, introverts, extroverts, even I do sometimes.

Quote of the Day

If you need someone along to keep you motivated, invite a friend. If you need someone to keep you entertained, ask a friend. If you need someone to smile at, bring your kitty cat.

Lazy Sunday Hangover Walk

Day 58

You got me, yes I have a hangover. There I admitted it. We stayed up late and finished Season 3 of Ozarks. I won’t ruin it for you, but yes it was a great TV series and the season finale left me speechless.

While I may have been enthralled in my show and speechless to the ending, I managed to keep drinking my whiskey and Coke without noticing I drank it a little too fast.

Needless to say. Hours later, I still have a headache. I’ve rested alot today, went fishing and walked some sporadic steps throughout the day.

Nothing to brag about, but my walk has been on my mind all day and even though it has been short bursts, I know this is a habit that is sticking with me. Hangover or not, I look forward to my walks EVERYDAY.

Take care, go for a walk, and rest if you need to!

Quote of the Day

It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can’t remember if it’s the thirteenth or the fourteenth.

Made for Walking?

Day 57

  • The clouds set the stage for an awe-inspiring day of walking.
  • I made my way across the yard more times than I could count. I took the occasional detour to the hammock. But I eventually made my way to my planned walk for the day.
  • 4 miles of walking. A sunburn on my nose and cheeks.
  • I started out with my long hair blowing in the wind. Oh, I was confident.
  • My form fitting black leggings, a sports top with the back cut out. An extra spring in my step.
  • But….
  • I circled back my loop with my hair sticking to my face and the exposed sweaty skin on my back.
  • My face started out with a grin and a lighthearted facade and finished with a sweaty, sunburned age upon it.
  • My cute leggings were plastered to my sweaty ass and I wasn’t sure if my bra would ever peel off.
  • Where the hell did summer come from? 83 degrees came from outta nowhere and I wasn’t prepared in the least bit. I chugged my water. Gracefully? You ask….hell no! Water poured over my shirt in a righteous attempt to cool my steaming body as I climbed hill after hill.
  • Oh, if the passersby could have seen me 40 minutes ago in my hair- flowing-high- esteem- self. Instead they passed the red, sweaty, puffing woman with the sweaty ass and the water soaked rim of shirt. My apologies.
  • So was today made for walking? Yes, but I should have made myself ready for walking.

Quote of the Day

A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success.

Lake View Walk for Stress Relief

Day 56

  • I am in awe of the breathtaking landscape I walked upon today.
  • Miles don’t matter, steps don’t matter.
  • All that matters is the stress has been pulled from my soul and released into the warm, spring air. It floated away into oblivion.
  • I am at peace. All is well.
  • Take a walk around a lake, if you are able to, and feel the stress released from your body.
  • Your muscles will relax, your toes stop their curled grip, your grimaced lips relax and possibly turn into a grin.
  • Go for a walk anywhere and feel the stress leave your body!

Quote of the Day

Make your heart like a lake, with a calm, still surface, and great depths of kindness. – Lao Tzu

Even Better than a Fitbit!

Day 55

  • My fitbit arrived in the mail today! Look at me, I’m so fancy and high tech.
  • Seriously, though, it came in the mail this afternoon. I had to charge it for 10 minutes. Download an app. Sync it to my phone. Then stick it in my wrist and it’s ready to go.
  • It tells me the time and date, how many steps I take and my heart rate.  I can record a walk, run or even a bike ride.
  • I still need to look over the app and figure out all of the extra bling, but for now I’m pretty excited about it!
  • 2 miles walked plus a bunch of steps that I can’t wait to see totalled tonight.

On a More Important Note

It’s my daughter’s birthday today! 26 years ago this beautiful young lady was born into this world. I am so thankful for her and love her more than any mom could ever love a daughter. She is kind, adventurous, loving, compassionate, intelligent and a good listener. I am so very blessed.

Quote of the Day

A daughter is a miracle that never ceases to be miraculous….full of beauty and forever beautiful….loving and caring and truly amazing.

The Thunder Rolls and Then All is Quiet

Day 54

  • My day was a lot like the weather today. Slow and steady rain. Gloom then followed. When it wasn’t expected at all, the clouds cleared and the sun appeared.
  • We all need some gloomy days in our lives so we can be thankful for the sunny ones.
  • I, for one, am thankful for today.
  • 2 miles walked

Quote of the Day

On a sleepless night

As the storm blows on

Out of control

Deep in her heart
