Walking Days 61-66

66 Days of Walking

Day 66

  • I did it!!! I achieved my goal of daily walking for 66 days.
  • There were times when I didn’t want to get up off the couch and go for a walk. There were times it was cold, rainy, and gloomy. Then thankfully, there were many sunny days, just warm enough days and perfect weather days.
  • I listened to many podcasts, talked on the phone some, took many pictures and walked in silence, gratitude and awe.
  • Some days I walked 2 miles, some days 5 and a few times I walked 10 miles.
  • After the 30 day mark, I started really needing my walk. Around the 50 day mark I noticed, I anticipated my daily walk and would do anything to alter my schedule so I would get it in.
  • I believe I have formed the habit of daily walking and I am very thankful for that.

If you can dream it, you can do it!

Press forward. Do not stop, do not linger in your journey, but strive for the mark set before you.

Mother’s Day Walk

Day 65

I celebrated Mother’s Day with my family and, most importantly, my beautiful mother. We had a wonderful lunch while maintaining our social distancing. I took casual strolls with my neices, a walk around the flower gardens with my mom and a power walk by myself in the evening.

Happy Mother’s Day at all of the extraordinary moms out there!

Quote of the Day

Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother.

Birthday Celebration

Day 64

Today is my son’s 24th birthday. I love him so much and am so proud to be his mother. He makes me laugh and smile everyday. He looks out for his cousins, worries about his sister and is totally in love with his girlfriend. He is very blessed, but I am even more so.

Quote of the Day

Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!

– Dr. Seuss

Party Day Walk

Day 63

I was a mad cleaner. Not angry, but determined and accomplished. That house was done!

Old me: clean the house, make the food, set up for party, clean again, host party. Clean again.

New me: clean the house, not perfect, because who is really gonna care! Go on a 2 mile fast paced walk. Shower, brush my hair, look presentable, host the party, clean. Relax .

I am really loving this walking habit. It definitely helps to have priorities THAT ACTUALLY MATTER AND ARE BENEFICIAL for your life.

Quote of the Day

I wake up every morning and I surprise myself. I wake up to a new me.

– Gina Carano

Congratulations Graduates!

Day 62

  • Congratulations to all the high school graduates, college grads and kids for finishing this year’s school.
  • The world’s hearts go out to you all for missing your awaited ceremonies. Thank you all for all your hard work, perseverance and positive attitudes.

What better way to celebrate the summer ahead of you, than going outside, taking a deep breath of the fresh air and venturing out for a walk?

Walking is good for your body, as well as your mental state of mind. If your life has been disrupted by current events, take advantage of you time by starting a daily walking habit. Walking is good for stress and anxiety relief.

You never know what you will see when you head out for your walk, but whatever you find, I promise it will be different from the view inside. Go ahead, go for a walk!
